Hacksaw Gaming opens the Halloween season in style with Le Vampire, released on October 1, 2026, and the latest entry in the studio’s much-loved “Le” series. Following Le Bandit, Le Pharaoh and Le King, this gothic instalment trades sun-soaked adventure for candlelit castles and bloodthirsty charm – but keeps the series’ signature Golden Squares collection mechanic that fans of the line will recognise instantly, now dressed up with a suitably vampiric twist.

The Le series mascot, a tricky raccoon named Smokey, returns for the ride – this time navigating garlic, dangerous sunlight and a castle full of bats on his quest for immortal riches.

The demo gives you full access to all base-game mechanics including Super Cascades, Golden Squares and Blood Rain, so you can get a feel for the collection loop and activation chain before playing for real.

Basics

Le Vampire is built on a 6-reel, 5-row Cluster grid and carries a max win of 15,000x on a medium volatility rating (3/5). That high-ceiling-but-medium-variance combination is very much the “Le” series signature: the Golden Squares mechanic tends to produce steady, building sessions with a genuinely explosive top end rather than the brutal swings of a pure high-variance game, which is a big part of why the series has proven so popular.

Super Cascades

Le Vampire introduces a Super Cascades mechanic that keeps the action flowing. When a winning combination occurs, all regular paying symbols of the winning type are removed from the grid – not just the ones involved in the cluster – and new symbols drop down to fill the empty spaces. It’s a subtle but impactful addition: by clearing every instance of a winning symbol type rather than just the cluster itself, Super Cascades create more room for new symbols to land and chain into further wins, keeping each spin’s potential alive for longer.

Golden Squares and Blood Rain

The core loop will be familiar to Le series players. Wins turn the squares behind winning symbols into Golden Squares, and when a Rainbow symbol lands on the grid, it activates any Golden Squares after all wins have been collected. Activated Golden Squares reveal Special symbols: Bronze, Silver, Gold or Diamond Coins, plus Green or Gold Clover symbols and Bag of Gold or Pot of Gold symbols.

Coin values scale across four tiers – Bronze (0.2x–4x), Silver (5x–10x), Gold (20x–50x) and Diamond (100x–500x) – giving the reveal sequence a genuine range from small incremental payouts to single-symbol hits worth hundreds of times your bet.

The vampire-themed escalation is where Le Vampire earns its name: Epic Rainbow symbols turn all grid positions into Golden Squares and reveal Special symbols, but they can also trigger Blood Rain, flooding the entire grid with Blood Squares. Blood Squares work like Golden Squares with one key upgrade – they will not reveal any Bronze Coin symbols, effectively removing the lowest-value outcomes from the pool and tilting the reveals toward bigger prizes. It’s a smart, thematic evolution of the series formula: the transition from Golden to Blood Squares gives the feature a clear escalation moment and a visual payoff that ties directly into the 15,000x potential.

Collection Hierarchy: Clovers, Bags and Pots

Once Golden Squares have been revealed, the Special symbols activate in a specific order that creates a layered payout chain. First, Clover symbols apply their Multiplicative Multipliers (x2, x3, x4, x5, x10 or x20) to Coins, Bags of Gold and Pots of Gold. Green Clovers multiply symbols on adjacent squares, while Gold Clovers multiply all qualifying symbols anywhere on the grid – a crucial distinction that makes Gold Clovers the premium multiplier.

Next, Bag of Gold symbols activate top to bottom, left to right, collecting the values of all Coins and other activated Bags and Pots of Gold on adjacent 3×3 squares and storing their total value. Golden Squares then reveal new Special symbols once collected, and the process repeats. After all Bags have resolved, Pot of Gold symbols do the same but collect from the entire grid rather than just adjacent squares, making them the ultimate collection tool.

This layered activation order – Clovers multiply first, then Bags collect locally, then Pots collect globally – is what gives the Le series its signature chain-reaction feel. A well-placed Gold Clover multiplying a Diamond Coin before a Pot of Gold sweeps everything up is where the truly massive payouts live.

Bonus Games

Le Vampire features two regular bonus games and a Hidden Epic Bonus, each triggered by landing increasing numbers of FS scatter symbols during the base game.

Coffin Break (3 FS scatters – 10 free spins): This bonus retains the base game’s full mechanics, with all Golden and Blood Squares remaining highlighted until a Rainbow symbol activates them. The key addition is a symbol upgrade system: when a high-paying symbol is part of a winning combination, all symbols of that type are upgraded to Epic symbols for the remainder of the bonus, including any new ones that land. A Symbol Bar tracks upgrades across four levels, each awarding 2 additional free spins. Reaching Level 4 guarantees that a Rainbow or Epic Rainbow symbol will land on the next spin – a powerful safety net that ensures your collected squares will fire. When an Epic symbol is part of a win, the square behind it is highlighted as a Blood Square, feeding directly into the Blood Rain mechanic.

Love at First Bite (4 FS scatters – 10 free spins): This bonus keeps the Coffin Break mechanics but adds a crucial persistence upgrade – all Golden and Blood Squares remain highlighted even after being activated by a Rainbow symbol. When Epic Rainbow symbols activate, only the Golden and Blood Squares that were on the grid before the full-grid activation remain afterward. Every level reached on the Symbol Bar awards +2 free spins, meaning the bonus can extend significantly as symbols upgrade.

Do Your Fang – Hidden Epic Bonus (5 FS scatters – 10 free spins): The premium hidden feature and Le Vampire’s top-tier target. Do Your Fang keeps the Love at First Bite mechanics but supercharges them: a Rainbow or Epic Rainbow symbol is guaranteed to land on every single spin, ensuring your collected squares reveal reliably every turn. When Level 4 is reached on the Symbol Bar, an Epic Rainbow symbol is guaranteed on the next spin – flooding the entire grid with Blood Squares for maximum reveal potential. On top of that, all Coins revealed during the bonus display a value of at least 1x, eliminating the smallest Bronze Coin payouts (0.2x and 0.4x) entirely. Every Symbol Bar level still awards +2 free spins. The combination of guaranteed Rainbows, minimum 1x Coins and persistent squares makes Do Your Fang the clear path to the 15,000x ceiling.

Verdict

Le Vampire looks like a confident, well-themed continuation of one of Hacksaw’s strongest series. The Super Cascades add welcome extra action to the base game, the four-tier coin system and collection hierarchy give the Golden Squares mechanic real depth, and the Blood Rain escalation – particularly the removal of Bronze Coins from Blood Squares – is a fitting seasonal upgrade that genuinely improves the gameplay rather than just reskinning it.
