“Kobayanyan Luck”: Stake Users Accuse Company of Rigging Giveaways for Insiders

Online gambling platform Stake.com and rapper Drake are facing accusations of rigged giveaways after social media users noticed an account with a small following had won several promotions in recent months.

What Happened

On August 8, 2026, Stake.com announced a livestreamed celebration for the company’s ninth anniversary, promising a “$1,000,000 giveaway” in partnership with Drake. A follow-up post the next day said Stake and Drake would give “one random viewer $50K” during the stream, asking fans to drop their Stake usernames in the replies.

Hours later, Stake.com posted congratulating an account called “KOBAYANYAN” for winning the $50,000 prize.

That announcement quickly drew scrutiny. Social media users pointed out that the same username had also been named a winner in at least two earlier Stake giveaways going back to at least June 2026, despite the account having posted only a handful of times and holding a modest follower count. Several posts sharing screenshots suggested the account had won at least three separate Stake promotions total.

Core Allegations

Critics raised several points:

  • Improbable repeat wins: Multiple users argued the odds of the same small account winning three separate giveaways were implausibly low, and questioned Stake’s selection process.
  • Lack of verification: Several posts claimed Stake does not publicly disclose how giveaway winners are chosen or verified, making it impossible for the public to confirm the process is fair.
  • Gap between promised and delivered prizes: A number of users contrasted the advertised “$1 million giveaway” with what they described as smaller-scale rewards distributed during the stream, including references to $5 bonus codes tied to wagering requirements.

The phrase “Kobayanyan luck” began circulating as a sarcastic meme among affected users referencing the perceived pattern.

Who Is KOBAYANYAN?

Much of the controversy centers on the account itself, and what little public information exists about it has only fueled speculation. According to its X/Twitter profile:

  • The account @KOBAYANYANstake was created in July 2025 and has changed its username once, last doing so that same month.
  • It has posted only 12 times total, while accumulating 138 followers and following 29 accounts.
  • X’s account-transparency panel lists it as based in Japan and connected via the Japan Android App.
  • Its profile photo shows a young woman, but the account has posted no other identifying information, bio, or consistent content beyond giveaway-related activity.

Users flagged the combination of a low post count, a “stake” suffix appended to the handle, and repeated giveaway wins as suspicious, though none of these details on their own prove the account is fake, a bot, or affiliated with anyone at Stake.

Inside Job?

What began as confusion over one lucky winner has turned into a specific accusation from a large, vocal part of Stake’s community: that someone inside the company is rigging the giveaways. Some posts directly accuse staff of “stealing money from Stake” by rigging outcomes for personal gain, and are explicitly calling on Stake’s leadership – including Eddie – to publicly investigate and address the claims.

Neither Stake, Drake, nor any Stake representative had issued a public statement addressing the allegations as of this writing.
