Le Sortudo is the latest stop on Smokey the raccoon’s world tour, and this time Hacksaw has sent him to Brazil. “Sortudo” is Portuguese for “lucky,” and Smokey turns up in flip-flops and sunnies for a beachy disguise, set against a colourful Rio street with Christ the Redeemer in the background. It’s out September 3, 2026, and it takes the popular Le range in a genuinely new direction.

The Big Change: It’s Tiny Now
The headline shift is the grid. Every other Le slot has run on a big 6×5 layout, but Le Sortudo shrinks right down to a 3×3 grid with just 9 paylines. Only three-of-a-kind wins form, and there are just five paying symbols (K, A, a flip-flop, a drink can and a glass of beer), paying between 0.2x and 3x. There are no wilds at all.
That’s a dramatic downsize, and it’s the thing that’ll divide people. If you loved the original Le Bandit for filling a big grid with special symbols, nine positions is going to feel cramped. But if you have a soft spot for compact three-reel slots, this is Smokey’s take on that format.
How the Coins Work
The heart of the game is still the coin-collecting mechanic Le fans know. Land three or more Coins and Jackpot Markers together and they pay out after any regular wins. Coins come in three tiers: Bronze (small, 0.2x to 2x), Silver (3x to 9x) and Gold (the good ones, 10x to 50x).
Jackpot Markers are the other prize. Land them as part of a win and you get one of four fixed jackpots: Mini 5x, Medio 25x, Major 250x, or the Grand at 2,500x, which is also the game’s max win. So a lucky Jackpot Marker is your direct route to the top prize.
Two Hold & Win Rounds
There are two bonus features, both Hold & Win style. Think of the classic “lock the good symbols in place and respin” mechanic, where landing a new symbol resets your lives back to 3 and keeps the round going.
Rainbow Fortune Hold & Win is triggered by a Rainbow scatter. Only Coins, Jackpot Markers, Pots of Gold, Clovers and dead (blank) symbols land here. Clovers multiply your coins by 2x up to 20x at the end, and Pots of Gold sweep up all the coin values and bank them. It’s a satisfying little collection loop when it gets going.
Rainbow Epic Drop Hold & Win is the upgraded version, triggered by an Epic Rainbow scatter. Same rules, but you start with a full grid guaranteed, including at least one Coin and one Pot of Gold, and every coin is worth at least 1x. It’s the one you want.

Numbers
Default RTP is 96.27%, which is fine, but note the range drops all the way to 86% depending on the version a casino runs, so it’s worth checking. The bet range is unusually wide, from just €0.05 up to €400. And the max win is 2,500x, achievable in every mode.
That 2,500x is the sticking point. For a three-reel game it’s reasonable, but by Le standards it’s tiny. Most of the range chases 10,000x, so this caps out at a quarter of what fans are used to.
Verdict
Le Sortudo is the boldest swing the Le series has taken, and whether that’s good or bad really depends on you. The Brazil theme is charming, Smokey’s as likeable as ever, and the two Hold & Win rounds deliver that coin-collecting fun the range is known for. If you genuinely enjoy compact three-reel slots, this is a nicely made one with a proper jackpot hook.
But there’s no getting around the compromises. Nine positions can’t deliver the big grid-filling spectacle the larger Le games do, and that 2,500x cap will feel small to anyone who came for the series’ usual ceiling. Add the high volatility and the wide RTP range, and this is a game that could run cold for a while.
