Pragmatic Play went back to the well with the Gates of Olympus series, and this time they actually brought something new to the table. Gates of Olympus 2500 is the latest sequel in what’s become one of the most iconic slot franchises in online gaming. The “2500” in the name refers to the maximum multiplier value a single multiplier symbol can carry. That’s up from 1000x in the previous version and a massive jump from the original’s 500x cap.
The core formula hasn’t changed. You’ve got a 6×5 grid, symbols pay anywhere on the screen, and the tumble mechanic clears winning symbols and drops new ones in from above. Zeus still stands guard on the right side of the reels, and the whole thing looks like a polished version of the game you already know. But the changes under the hood are where it gets interesting.
Play Demo
Before you put real money on this, try the demo. Gates of Olympus 2500 is available in free play mode on our website. The demo gives you the full experience – tumbles, multipliers, free spins, all of it – with play money instead of real cash.
How It Plays
Every spin works the same way it always has in this series. Land 8 or more of the same symbol anywhere on the grid, and you get paid. Winning symbols disappear, everything shifts down, and new symbols fill the gaps. This keeps going until there are no more wins. Simple enough.
The paytable is straightforward. The crown is the top-paying regular symbol at $100 for 12 or more (on a base bet of $2). Below that you’ve got the dragon armor, the ring, and the chalice. The lower-value symbols are five colored gems – red pentagon, purple triangle, gold hexagon, green triangle, and blue diamond – paying progressively less.
Scatters are the Zeus symbol. Land 4 or more and you trigger free spins. The scatter also pays on its own: $6 for 4, $10 for 5, and $200 for 6 or more.

Multiplier Symbols
This is the heart of the game. Six different multiplier orbs can land randomly on any spin or tumble, both in the base game and during free spins. When one appears, it gets assigned a random value. The possible values are: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x, 1000x, 1500x, 2000x, and 2500x.
At the end of a tumble sequence, all the multiplier values on screen are added together, and the total is applied to your win for that sequence. So if you’ve got a 50x and a 100x sitting on the grid when the tumbles end, your total win for that sequence gets multiplied by 150x.

Free Spins – Four Types
Landing 4+ scatters gives you 15 free spins. Before the round starts, a random free spins type is selected. There are four possibilities, and they work differently:
- Free Spins 1: When a multiplier symbol lands on a winning spin, its value gets added to a running total multiplier. That total is then applied to every subsequent win for the rest of the round. The multiplier builds and sticks.
- Free Spins 2: Same idea as Free Spins 1, but with one big difference – the multiplier value gets added to the total every time a multiplier symbol lands, whether you have a win on that spin or not. This is a huge deal. In the original Gates of Olympus, multipliers that landed on dead spins were wasted. Now they still contribute. That turns frustrating dry spins into something you can actually get excited about.
- Super Free Spins 1: Works like Free Spins 1, but the minimum multiplier value is 10x. No more landing a 2x when you need momentum.
- Super Free Spins 2: Works like Free Spins 2, with the same 10x minimum. This is the dream mode – multipliers always count toward the total regardless of wins, and the floor is 10x. This is where the truly massive wins live.
If you land 3+ scatters during any free spins round, you get 5 additional free spins. Special reels are used during the feature, which likely means better odds for multipliers and high-value symbols.
Special Bets
Pragmatic Play included a tiered betting system that gives you options without being obnoxious about it. Here’s the breakdown:
- Normal Play (20x bet multiplier): Standard gameplay. No frills, no extra cost.
- Ante Bet 1 (25x): Your chance to hit free spins is 2 times higher than normal. A modest 25% increase on your bet for double the feature frequency.
- Ante Bet 2 (55x): Free spins chance is 8 times higher. Costs 2.75x your base bet.
- Ante Bet 3 (110x): Free spins chance is also 8 times higher, but with an added bonus – there’s a better chance of landing Super Free Spins 1, Free Spins 2, or Super Free Spins 2 when you do trigger the feature. Costs 5.5x your base bet.
- Super Spin 1 (400x): Every single spin is guaranteed to have at least one multiplier symbol with a random value. You can’t trigger free spins in this mode.
- Super Spin 2 (5000x): Same guarantee of at least one multiplier per spin, but with a minimum value of 25x. Free spins are also disabled here.
The ante bets are genuinely reasonable. At 1.25x, 2.75x, and 5.5x your base bet, they don’t feel like you’re being squeezed. Compare that to some other slots where the ante bet costs you 10x or more and barely moves the needle.
Buy Feature
If you’re in a market that allows bonus buys, you can skip straight to the feature:
- Free Spins 1: 100x total bet
- Free Spins 2: 250x total bet
- Super Free Spins 1: 500x total bet
- Super Free Spins 2: 1250x total bet
But here’s the thing that makes this game stand out from many of its competitors – you don’t need to buy your way into the best features. Every time you naturally trigger free spins with 4 scatters, any of the four types can be randomly selected. That includes Super Free Spins 2, the most powerful mode. Players in markets where bonus buys aren’t allowed still have a fair shot at the top-tier feature. That’s a meaningful design choice that a lot of slot developers skip.

Numbers
The theoretical RTP sits at 96.52% for normal play, and hovers around 96.49-96.50% across all the ante bet and buy feature options. The game is classified as high volatility, which is exactly what you’d expect from a slot with multipliers that can reach 2500x.
The max win is capped at 25,000x your bet. If you hit that during a round, the game ends immediately and pays out. All remaining features are forfeited. That cap is generous – it puts this slot in the upper tier of max win potential.
For perspective on how rare the big stuff is: free spins trigger roughly once every 443 spins on normal play, and the maximum win has a probability of about 1 in 1.98 million. This is a slot that can go long stretches without paying much, but when it hits, it can hit extraordinarily hard.
Bottom Line
Gates of Olympus 2500 isn’t just a reskin. The 2500x max multiplier value, the four-tiered free spins system, and the “multipliers count without wins” mechanic in Free Spins 2/Super Free Spins 2 are genuine improvements over every previous version. The ante bet structure is fair, the best features aren’t locked behind bonus buys, and the 25,000x max win gives the game serious ceiling potential.
It’s still a high-volatility slot at its core. Long dry stretches are part of the deal. But when the multipliers start stacking in Super Free Spins 2 and every orb adds to the total whether you connect or not – that’s when you understand what Pragmatic Play was going for with this one.
If you liked any previous Gates of Olympus, you’ll like this more. If you’ve never played the series, this is the best version to start with.
