Deep Sea Frenzy is Pragmatic Play’s ocean-themed collect-and-pay slot with 5 reels, 50 paylines, and a max win of 16,000x your bet. It runs on medium volatility with an RTP of 96.52%, and the main event is a free spins round where money symbol values escalate with every spin. It’s scheduled for release on October 15, 2026.

Deep Sea Frenzy Demo

You can spin Deep Sea Frenzy for free using the demo right here on this page. It loads with a $100,000 play-money balance, so you’ve got plenty of room to explore every feature without risking a cent.

Theme & Design

Pragmatic Play goes underwater here with a shark-heavy aesthetic. The reels sit inside a golden frame surrounded by coral, treasure chests, and sunken ships. High-paying symbols include three different sharks – a blue one, a green one, and a red one – along with a Viking ship and a treasure chest. Low pays are your standard card royals from 9 through Ace. It looks good without breaking new ground visually. The deep blue color palette works well, and the shark symbols have a nice cartoonish quality to them.

Base Game

The base game pays left to right across 50 fixed paylines. At a $2.00 bet, the top-paying blue shark gives you $16.00 for five of a kind, while the lowest card symbol (the 9) pays $3.20 for five. A wild symbol appears on reels 2 through 5 and substitutes for everything except scatters.

The hit frequency is 1 in 3.03, so roughly one in three spins returns something. That’s pretty standard for a medium volatility game and keeps the base game ticking along without too many dead stretches.

But the regular payline wins aren’t really the point here. The real action comes from the money and collect symbols.

Money & Collect Mechanic

Money symbols can land on reels 1 through 4. Each one displays a random multiplier value when it hits – anywhere from 1x up to 200x your base bet. The full range is 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 150x, 175x, and 200x.

Collect symbols only appear on reel 5 and come in five varieties: a basic Frenzy collect, a 2x multiplier, a 3x multiplier, a 5x multiplier, and a +1 Spin collect.

When 8 or more money symbols land alongside a collect symbol on reel 5, all money values on screen are added up and paid out – then the free spins round triggers. If the collect symbol carries a multiplier (2x, 3x, or 5x), all money values are multiplied by that amount before being paid. If it’s the +1 Spin collect, you get an extra free spin added to the upcoming round.

Free Spins

The free spins round starts with 5 free spins (or 6 if triggered by the +1 Spin collect symbol).

During free spins, money symbol values aren’t random anymore. They follow a fixed escalation path that increases with each consecutive spin. The values go: 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 150x, 175x, and 200x – one step per spin up to spin 12. After that, every money symbol is worth 200x for the rest of the round.

So the later your free spins go, the more valuable every money symbol becomes. The collect mechanic still works during the round – any money symbols on screen when a collect hits reel 5 get paid at whatever the current escalation value is, with any multiplier from the collect symbol applied on top.

With only 5 or 6 spins to start, you’re working with the lower end of that escalation (1x through 10x or 15x). The real fireworks would require retriggers or the buy feature’s higher spin counts to push into triple-digit multiplier territory.

Ante Bet

You can toggle between two bet modes. The standard bet multiplier is 25x (normal play). Switch to the 40x Ante Bet and three things change: the money symbol threshold drops from 8 to 7, the chance to trigger free spins increases by 1.8x, and the Buy Feature gets disabled. You’re paying 60% more per spin for a meaningfully better shot at the bonus round.

Buy Feature

If you’d rather skip the wait, you can buy directly into free spins for 170x your base bet. Before the round starts, you pick one of four cards that randomly awards 5, 6, 7, or 8 free spins. Getting 7 or 8 spins is a big deal – it pushes you further up that escalation ladder, meaning money symbols carry values of 25x to 50x by the end of the round instead of capping out at 10x or 15x.

Max Win

The ceiling is 16,000x your bet. If a free spins round hits that cap, it ends immediately – any remaining spins are forfeited and you’re paid out. You don’t need to hit the absolute maximum for a solid result. The escalating money values during free spins can stack up quickly when collect symbols cooperate.

Verdict

Deep Sea Frenzy is a solid medium-volatility collect-and-pay slot. The escalating money values during free spins give the round a real sense of momentum that flat-value games lack – every extra spin matters more than the last. The 16,000x cap is respectable, the 96.52% RTP is fair, and the 1-in-3 hit rate keeps the base game from feeling like a grind.

The main downside is that the free spins round often runs short. Five or six spins doesn’t get you very far up the escalation ladder, so the biggest payouts depend heavily on either buying in with luck on the card pick or landing +1 Spin collects during the round. It’s not Pragmatic’s most exciting release, but the math is clean and the mechanic works well. Worth a spin if you like collect-style games with a bit of buildup.
