Floor Is Lava is Shuffle’s tile-survival Original: pick a tile, watch a batch of the board sink into the lava, and if your tile holds, your multiplier climbs. The tricky part isn’t the concept – it’s the math. Four difficulties, three levels per bet, and a payout ladder that jumps from single digits to six figures make it hard to know exactly what a given bet is worth before you commit to the next round.

That’s what the calculator below is for. Set your bet, pick a difficulty and level, choose the round, and it returns the exact multiplier and payout for that spot on the ladder.

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Enter your bet amount. The payout updates live as you type.
  2. Pick a difficulty – Easy, Medium, Hard, or Toxic. This sets how steep the ladder is and how many rounds are on the board.
  3. Choose a level – Level 1, 2, or 3. Levels only come into play once you’ve cleared a full board and carried your multiplier into a fresh one.
  4. Select a round. The calculator instantly shows the multiplier for that exact position and what your bet is worth at that point.

TOXIC

1 1 48.0200× 2,352.9800× 115,296.0200×

Easy spreads the risk across six decision points per level, with the gentlest per-round multiplier steps. Toxic collapses the entire board into one pick. Each difficulty’s Level 3, final-round cell is its ceiling: 336.14× on Easy, 922.37× on Medium, 4,270.22× on Hard, and 115,296.02× on Toxic.

How Floor Is Lava’s Multipliers Actually Work

Every multiplier in Floor Is Lava traces back to one formula:

Level 1 multiplier = 0.98 × (49 ÷ tiles remaining on the board)

The 0.98 is the game’s return-to-player rate – Floor Is Lava runs at a flat 98% RTP, meaning a 2% house edge. As tiles sink and fewer remain standing, the ratio of 49 to what’s left grows, and so does your multiplier. That’s the entire mechanism: survival shrinks the pool, and the shrinking pool is what pays.

Levels build on top of that base ladder rather than resetting it. Clearing every round on a board completes the level – the board goes back to a full 49 tiles, but your multiplier carries forward and the whole ladder rescales. The size of that jump depends on how many tiles were left standing when you cleared the board, following:

Level jump = 49 ÷ tiles left standing

So on Easy, where a cleared board leaves 7 tiles standing, each completed level multiplies the ladder by 7. On Toxic, where a “cleared” board means the single surviving tile out of 49, the jump is a full 49× – which is exactly why three cleared Toxic boards in a row reach 115,296.02×.

Because the 0.98 RTP factor is only ever applied at Level 1, and every level after that is a pure rescale, the payback percentage stays fixed at 98% no matter how deep you push – Level 3 isn’t a worse bet than Level 1, just a longer one.

Floor Is Lava gameplay on Shuffle showing the egg standing on a surviving tile, Easy difficulty, Level 2, with a 24.01x current multiplier and 48.02x next-jump multiplier
The egg mid-run on Easy difficulty, Level 2 — surviving tiles glow at the edges while the rest sink into the lava behind it.

FAQ

What is the maximum possible payout in Floor Is Lava?

115,296.02× your stake, reached by clearing all three levels on Toxic difficulty – three correct 1-in-49 picks in a row.

Does the calculator account for the house edge?

Yes. Every multiplier already has the 98% RTP baked in via the 0.98 factor at Level 1; nothing further needs to be subtracted.

Why do the numbers look slightly different from a plain 49 ÷ tiles-remaining calculation?

Because the RTP factor (0.98) is applied at Level 1, and each subsequent level rescales by 49 ÷ tiles-left-standing rather than reapplying the RTP again. Multiplying tiles-remaining ratios alone without that context will overstate the payout.

Can I use the calculator to plan a strategy?

Yes – that’s its main use. Every tile drop is random, so nothing changes the odds of any individual pick, but you can still decide in advance how far you’re willing to go. Look up the payout at each round and level before you start a bet, and set a target: for example, “cash out at Round 4 on Medium” or “stop once Level 2 is cleared on Hard.” Deciding your stopping point ahead of time, based on what it actually pays, is the calculator’s job – it just can’t tell you whether the next tile survives.
